Melyngar is a beautiful white mare who belongs to Lord Gwydion. She later helped King Fflewddur Fflam, Princess Eilonwy, and Taran escape the ruins of Achren's Castle.
Biography
The Book of Three
Melyngar helped carry Gwydion, later the Harp of King Fflewddur Fflam, and, even later Gurgi after he was injured. Melyngar helped Taran find Medwyn, and also helped them escape Achren. Later, Melyngar even helped them reach Gwydion's home.She is later reunited with her foal, Melynlas. Melyngar is not seen again in the Chronicles of Prydain until The Prydain Companion.
