Arawn’s Fortress, Annuvin

Annuvin is the realm of death in the Prydain Novels. Annuvin was formally home to the witch Achren until Arawn usurped the throne and took the iron crown of Annuvin for himself. Annuvin is the nexus of the Cauldron-Born’s power and there power falters as they stay longer from it.Annuvin is the neighbour and rival of Prydain.

Arawn has lead many of his servants to believe that one day they too would be ruler of Annuvin but such tales are nonsense. To become the Ruler of Annuvin, one must over-power that current ruler or the iron crown will burn when placed on the wearer’s head. Magg made that very same mistake in The High King.

Travel Guide

Annuvin contains many amazing spectacles from it's mountains, to the castle, to the creepy forests.

Mount Dragon

The tallest peek in Annuvin, it is the key gate to the wicked realm. It is so named because the mountain is in the shape of a frightening dragon. The mountain contains many secret routes and pitfalls where many travelers have met their demise. Taran led his war party into Annuvin via the summit. At the top of the mountain was the location where the sword Dyrnwyn was hidden from the Sons of Don.

Dark Gate

Dark Gate is the lesser two mountains guarding the back of Arawn's realm. The Sons of Don's war party used this entrances for it's attempted capture of the Black Crochan. They are a shorter and sneakier route but are more dangerous to scale.

Emporess Summit

A small peak jutting off of Mount Dragon named after the former Queen of Annuvin, Achren. Achren is the only one who knows this mountain, even Arawn does not know it's paths. When the war band is traveling upon it, Achren gives them a large advantage of the Huntsmen of Annuvin.

Hell's Glade

Hell's Glade is a small forest sorrounding the east side of the massive castle. The forest is said to house a man's worst fears. The heroes never travelled there in the books but did so in the low-budget film series. The Glade proved a more fearsome opponent than General Trollface in the long run.

Moat of Styx

A large moat surrounding the castle seen in the Disney film. It does not appear to be anything more than a standard moat however, it is named after the Greek River Styx. The moat possibly contains crocodile and sea snake.
